Off-Camera Light (for photographers)

We're having an incredible time here at OSP Indiana, and we'll be sharing more pictures from the event in the near future!

In the meantime, I wanted to share with all of those who came to my off-camera lighting presentation today links to the equipment that I referenced. Here you go!

Check out this clamp by Bogen that allows you to mount your off-camera hotshoe flash almost anywhere you want!

If you want to mount the flash to your tripod for off-camera light, check out this little item!

Last but not least, for on-camera flash diffusion, check out the Joe Demb diffusers!

Baby Olivia arrived this morning!

Last night, I had the privilege of spending the night photographing a new entrance into the world. Atlanta photographer, Amanda Phillips went into the hospital last night at about 8:00. I arrived sometime after midnight, and this was the first thing I saw...

Thankfully, this policy wasn't well-enforced!

When I stepped into Amanda's room, an awesome John Mayer song was playing, and I found it to be so fitting for the situation... He was crooning "We keep on waiting, waiting on the world to change..." And that is exactly what Amanda was doing...

Waiting.

Amanda told me that her baby was waiting until morning to come, in order to give us the best light possible! I laughed, but apparently she was serious... Just after daybreak, it was time for Amanda to start pushing. I have to applaud both Amanda and her amazing husband Jason. I have never seen a more fluid team. It was an emotional sight, just watching the two of them together. You can tell they are completely in love.

Sometime around 8:30, after a long and hard labor, the doctor decided that a c-section was going to be necessary, and Amanda was whisked off to an operating room!

At 9:06 a.m., Baby Olivia made her entrance into the world!

I love the expression on Jason's face as he introduces his newborn to her new family!

Some of my favorite pictures of the day were of little Baby Olivia's feet. She has the longest little toes I have ever seen on a newborn!

Amanda and Jason... Congratulations! I am so excited for the two of you, and Baby Olivia is completely perfect! Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of this amazing day!

I hope you enjoy your slideshow!!!

Elea Blake Cosmetics!!!

I had an incredible time today with our friends from Elea Blake Cosmetics here in Chattanooga!!! Darin Wright, the owner...

...runs an incredible business where they offer custom-mixed makeup, from foundation to lipstick! It's the coolest thing!

Darin's daughter, Blake, and two of her friends, modeled for the shoot, showing off Elea Blake's makeup and clothes from Frankie and Julian's! The girls did an incredible job, especially considering they had never modeled before!

As part of the shoot, Darin did makeup for Lori, and I was amazed at how natural this custom-made makeup looked - not overdone, but just perfect!

Thanks to everyone for a great shoot, despite the 30 degree weather and snow! You were great girls!!!

Baby Reese... Almost One!!

I cannot believe that Baby Reese is almost one! I have had so much fun with Missy and Roger and Baby Reese over the course of the last year. We've done a bit of everything...playing, napping, bathing, laughing, even falling down and breaking bones! Every time I leave, I feel completely blessed to have been in their company.

Reese is not quite one and is already walking! She's quite the busy little one, and it was all we could do to keep up with her! I adore her smile!

She had loads of new toys to play with... Missy said she wasn't going to spoil her with lots of toys this Christmas... but I think she couldn't help herself :) This horse toy is my favorite toy ever!

It is so much fun to explore Missy's house for light. I've been there 5 times this year, and we were still able to find completely new things to do, and new places to play! The light was just amazing!

Missy and Reese have an amazing relationship. You can tell they spend so much time together, and that makes them the best of friends. I just love listening to Missy talk to Reese, she must have a million nicknames!

Lucky Baby Reese got to take two baths yesterday. I saw the light in the master bathroom, and I knew we just had to get in there! Reese has graduated from the little tub, to this big one... and I think she's pretty excited about it. I know I would be.

Missy, I had a great time with, as always! I look forward to the upcoming birthday party!!

Enjoy your slideshow!!

All we need is Love!

Happy Love Day!

Do you ever feel like you could live your life fulfilled by love alone? Today is one of those days for me.

I was just working away, and my doorbell rang. I ran downstairs, and it was the Valentine's fairy from Sophie's! Nathan had ordered me the most amazing gift basket, and of course, Sophie's packaged it beautifully! Who knew pjs, sugar scrub, chocolate, and flowers could look so incredible!

Nathan, I love you. You constantly surprise me with your love. Thank you for being my husband and my best friend!

Okay, now, the gushy stuff is over, I'll share a bit of our fun morning with you! I woke the kids up this morning, and as is tradition in the Holritz family, I fed them a breakfast of candy! Strawberry Peeps, Reese's Hearts, and conversation hearts. Breakfast of Champions!

I also need to give a Fun Monday update! For Fun Monday this week, we went to the Blue Plate for lunch. They have the most amazing homestyle potato chips with this insane blue cheese sauce. YUM.

The weather was amazing, so we walked from lunch up to the Creative Discovery Museum. Austen played in the water for a bit, while Addison braved the big scary playground with her dad.

Then we played a little dress-up...

The kids did a little dinosaur hunting...

They have a new section upstairs called Amazing Castle. The whole floor is divided into different rooms, each one teaching about a different job from the medieval times. Pretty interesting!

I just liked this shot!

And of course, the obligatory self portrait!

I hope that everyone has a absolutely wonderful Valentine's Day. Big Hugs to everyone too far away for me to hug in real life! I miss you all!
